Odontogenic subperiosteal abscess along buccal surface of right maxillary first premolar

Terminology:

Periapical lucency = low density (rot) around the root of the tooth
Subperiosteal abscess = fluid collection with an enhancing rim adjacent to the bone; give measurements and location so the ED physician knows where to drain:

Buccal surface = cheek side of the mouth
Lingual surface = tongue side of the mouth
Maxillary = upper jaw
Mandibular = lower jaw
