8 yo F, facial trauma in MVC

Major Findings

Asymmetric soft tissue swelling and hematoma
Right mandibliluar condyle fracture, displaced medially and anteriorly

Teaching Points

For trauma, remember the outside-to-in approach and let soft tissue asymmetries point you to the area of injury and possible underlying fracture.

Compare the fracture to the normal left mandibular condyle. The sagittal sequence is helpful for following the sweep of the mandible from condyle to condyle.
